Previously I told you guys about Apple Detox Thailand that I consume that helps with bowel movement.


Firstly, Apple Detox Thailand is a dietary supplement that helps bowel regulation. Just take 1 capsules in the morning after breakfast and drink 2 or 3 liter of water. Then wait for the magic to happen after 3 - 4 hours.


But if you haven't read the review yet, then you should read it. Because, why not?



At first, I really love consuming Apple Detox Thailand Capsule. On my reviews post, I told you from day 1 to day 4 experience.


I know it's just a 4-day experience, but I'm consuming it only to regulate my bowel movements. Not for weight loss or brighter and clear skin (Capsules contain Vit C). If I'm about to write about weight loss or anything I wouldn't write a review that I only consume for 4 days.



That capsule works in 3 - 4 hours for bowel regulation. Day 3 was not good for me... The worst.


I know I said it is worst, but I still consume it since it really helps with constipation.



I stop consuming Apple Detox Thailand capsules after 2 weeks and started to drink Chia Seed.



I search on the internet on how to consume it, and some would recommend it to take 1 tablespoon in a warm glass of water. But for me, I use 2 tablespoons of Chia Seed and drink it.


The Chia Seed will get sticky or jelly consistency when it sits in the water. So I always stir it, just to make sure it won't stick to each other. lol



The taste is just like jelly. As for me, it tastes good and it works better than the Capsules.



The different is, I can get a severe stomach ache for consuming Apple Detox. It is not good, but I was just desperate for it. Always felt good after overcoming the stomachache.


And for Chia Seed, I drink it in the morning and at night. Next day, it will help to regulate bowel movement in the morning! I am happy with it. Since drinking Chia Seed won't give me any stomachache like how Apple Detox does.



Other than that, Chia Seed also helps control my hunger.



By the way, I only drink it cause I love the taste, I can cook it or eat it raw, and it helps with bowel movement. I am not consuming it for weight loss or diet program.

I only know Chia Seed help with bowel movement. But after a little deep research about it, I learn a lot more about Chia Seed health benefits.

As for me, I sprinkled a tablespoon of Chia Seed on my rice bowl. The rice texture is soft, adding a little of Chia Seed gave it a crunch and nutty tastes!

I know it doesn't look good if you cook this. Just don't think about the looks, the tastes itself is better than a normal omelet. An extra crunch from Chia Seed will bring your omelet into a different level of deliciousness.



2. Banana Split Sprinkle Chia Seed

Even the word is rhyme! The sweetness and soft texture of banana and a sprinkle of Chia Seed will surely give your fruits on another level! Instead of chocolate rice sprinkled, why not use Chia Seed as a sprinkle? It tastes nutty and has an extra crunch.



3. Ice-Cream

Any flavor is good, trust me. Chia Seed will give the crunch that you want in the ice cream. Chia seed is just so good that you don't need a specific ice cream flavor to make it delicious.


4. Coconut water

Add a tablespoon of Chia Seed in your coconut water and it will taste much more delicious than before. Just a plain glass of water is good too. I did mention above that I drink Chia Seed in the morning and at night.

1. Helps Lose Weight

What is a mental illness? 


Mental illness is a disease that interferes with the functioning of the brain that can cause a change in the process of thinking, feeling, and behavior of a person that causes disturbance to live a good day's activities. 


Only 6 that I listed here, there is more Mental Illness out there. I really wish everyone aware of their friends or family behavior changes. So you could help them before it's too late.

Mental illness is not just a disease. It consists of various categories of disease. Generally, mental illness can be divided into 3 main groups:

Have you ever heard about Trimethylaminuria (TMAU)?  Nope? Ya, me neither.


Never have I ever heard about that word before until now. I really love blogging about some health issue, tips or guide. 







So yesterday, I was watching a Youtube animated video then I saw a really catchy video title "I stink and can't do anything".



Then I watch the whole video for 5:47 minute. It was about a man named Jason stinky even if he showers for more than 15 times a day.


His mother even brought him to the Hospital for a check-up, but never have been diagnosed for anything except they think that it was because of his hormone or fungus that made him stink, but then nothing else was diagnosed. He was a healthy boy and he smells like a dead fish.



Even if he uses deodorant, it still useless for him. The stinky smell is stronger than the deodorant. 



Of course, Jason is frustrated about his situation. But then one day, he saw on the internet about this fish odor syndrome. It makes people stink without any other reason. 



This is the reason why people should know about this kind of rare disease. I'm raising awareness to the people out there who suffered from this rare condition!

Fish Odor Syndrome

Fish odor syndrome is a disorder caused by a metabolic disorder in the human body, which forms too much Trimethylamine chemical compound.


Trimethylaminuria is a genetic disorder that causes body odor to be strong, usually described as the smell of rotten fish, dirt or garbage. The odor is formed when the body is unable to process Trimethylamine, an odorous chemical produced in the intestine, especially when certain foods containing choline are digested.

Signs and Symptoms of Fish Odor Syndrome

If Trimethylamine compounds accumulate in the body, you will emit a strong odor in sweat, urine, saliva, and vaginal fluids. Usually, this is not accompanied by other symptoms.


The smell usually becomes clear in childhood, when the child is weaned. This is because children started to eat foods other than breast milk. But sometimes, this can also begin in adulthood.


Causes of Fish Odor Syndrome

Bacteria in the intestine help us to digest food, such as eggs, nuts, and seafood. In this process, they produce a sharp-smelling chemical called Trimethylamine.


Usually, enzymes (proteins) called flavins which contain monooxygenase 3 (FMO3) are produced by the liver to convert Trimethylamine N-oxide molecule. Most people have the FMO3 gene, which provides instructions for making this enzyme.


In special circumstances, namely on damaged genes, most people with Trimethylaminuria have missing FMO3 enzymes or their FMO3 genes do not work as happens in most people. This can cause Trimethylamine buildup in the body.


Usually, people with Trimethylaminuria have inherited a damaged FMO3 gene from their parents. In other words, each parent will carry a copy of the damaged gene and become the ''carrier'' of the condition. It is estimated that 1% of the population in England is the carrier of the damaged gene that causes Trimethylaminuria.

Other Causes of Fish Odor Syndrome

Not everyone with Trimethylaminuria has a damaged FMO3 gene. Some cases can be caused by excess protein in food or abnormal increase in intestinal bacteria that produces trimethylamine. Some cases of Trimethylaminuria have been linked to liver or kidney disease, where the FMO3 enzyme is less active.


Women are more likely to develop this syndrome than men. This may be related to female sex hormones, such as progesterone and estrogen, which can worsen symptoms.


Some cases can appear worse when the patient has age around puberty, or at the following times

  • When taking contraceptive pills
  • Menopause
  • Stress and diet may also play a role in triggering this body odor
  • Trimethylaminuria diagnosis


Trimethylaminuria is diagnosed with a urine test that measures the ratio of Triethylamine (fishy-smelling chemistry) to trimethylamine N-oxide (odorless version). The test is done by taking choline samples over the next 24 hour period. If you have Trimethylaminuria, then your body has excess Trimethylamine levels.


How to overcome Fish Odor Syndrome







Now, there is no cure for Trimethylaminuria or this fish odor syndrome. However, symptoms can be reduced by making certain lifestyle changes


1. Diet

You can reduce odor by avoiding foods that contain chemicals Trimethylaminuria, choline, and trimethylamine N-oxide. This means avoiding milk from cows, eggs, liver, kidneys, beans, soy products, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, seafood(fish and crustaceans), lecithin and fish oil supplements containing lecithin.

2. Medicine


Low-dose antibiotics allegedly can reduce the number of bacteria in the intestine and suppress Trimethylamine production. In addition, laxatives can also speed up food travel through your intestines so there will be a reduction in Trimethylamine levels in your intestines.


If you know someone who suffered from this rare condition. Do not make fun of them! Actually, I don't care either that someone suffered from this condition or not, it's not okay to make fun of other people!

  • Reduce the consumption of alcohol or drugs that have a drowsy effect on sleep

  • Try sleeping at your regular times every day

''Sleep Apnea'' is a condition when someone stops breathing while sleeping. Every breathing will be halted for 10 seconds or more. It can be categorized as mild, moderate or severe based on the amount of apnea and low respiratory rate(hypopnea) in every hour. The number of ''apnea'' can occur between 5 - 10 times.


There are 3 types of ''Sleep Apnea''

  • Obstructive Sleep Apnea
  • Central Sleep Apnea
  • Mixed Sleep Apnea


But in today's blog post, I will focus on ''Obstructive Sleep Apnea''(OSA).

This disease is three times more occurs to men than women at the age of 30 and above.

Disease Severity Level

Sleep Apnea depends on the frequency of respiratory disorders. The estimates below can be used as a guide.


Normal: Less than 5 in every hour


Mild: 5 to 14 times


Moderate: 15 to 30


Worse: 30 times every hour

This ''Sleep Study''(Polysomnography) test can be done at your government or private hospital. 


The causes of ''Obstructive Sleep Apnea'' (OSA)

The causes of OSA is almost the same causes why we are snoring.

  • Obesity(most often, short and large neck, small chin
  • Blockage in the nose, mouth, throat, for example, tonsilitis or a large tongue


Other factors

  • Alcohol
  • Thyroid hormones and thyroid gland
  • Sleeping pills and medicine
  • Smoking

How did sleep apnea happen?

The half-clogged or narrower airflow does not cause problems during the day while a person is awake, but during sleep, the neck will give pressure to the respiratory tract cause the respiratory tract increase narrowly causing OSA. This condition is compounded by alcohol and medication that causes the muscle in the throat to become saggy during sleep.


At the time the respiratory tract is severely clogged, breathing stops for a while so the brain detects low oxygen levels. The brain will send a signal of oxygen deficiency. At the moment someone will be half aware of snoring and try to breathe as hard as possible to get oxygen. In most cases, someone suffering from this problem is not aware that he is actually half aware of getting oxygen This sleep pattern repeats hundreds of times each night causing disrupted sleep as well as drowsiness and fatigue problems when waking up.


This really makes me sad and scared me actually. My friends suffered from Sleep Apnea, this occurs to her like 5 - 10 times. I see her stopped breathing during sleep, and she wakes up all of a sudden. Every time I heard her snoring, I will wake her up, at least her snoring stop for a while.

According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, about 19% of participants with severe Sleep Apnea dies(12 deaths), compared with about 4% of participants with no sleep apnea(46 deaths). Although participants with mild Sleep Apnea or moderate Sleep Apnea had a mortality risk that was 50% greater than those with no Sleep Apnea, the results did not achieve statistical significance.
